Scripture References—Genesis 2 and 3; 2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 2:13
Creation of Eve:
Eve was created in God’s own Image. Genesis 2:18 says that, it is not good for man to be alone so God made Eve as the suitable helper for Adam. God made Eve by putting Adam to sleep, He took one of his rib and created her. She was called bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh as she was created out of man and therefore called women. God named her Eve.
Life of Eve:
God blessed Adam and Eve and placed them in the Garden of Eden. God commanded them to eat anything from the Garden except from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He also clearly said that if they eat they will certainly die, but Eve was easily deceived by the serpent as the serpent cunningly said that they will certainly not die; which was just opposite to what God had said hence there was the fall of man.
Lessons from the life of Eve:
Positively, she was created as a suitable helper for Adam. As a wife, we are called to be suitable helper to our husband. We must learn to be submissive to the headship of our Husband.
Negatively, Eve was deceived easily by the serpent. Satan in the form of the Serpent, the tempter persuaded Eve easily and she saw the fruit pleasing to her eyes and she ate it. Thus forgetting the command of God.
As it is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 11:3, “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ”. Therefore, we must plead the Lord to help us with His Holy Spirit everyday to keep us away from such deceiving thoughts, persuading things and from the tempter – the Satan. As we are weaker vessel, we can get easily trapped to Sin.
